February 27-28 – “Brokering Votes: Clientelism in Comparative Perspective” Conference
The CPD Task Force on Political Clientelism is organizing a conference entitled “Brokering Votes: Clientelism in Comparative Perspective,” to be held on February 27-28, 2015, that will focus on improving our comparative understanding of clientelism as well as develop innovative designs to assess causes and consequences of clientelism. February 11 – “The Capture of the White Ant,” A Lecture by Associate Professor Adam Branch
Adam Branch, Associate Professor of Political Science at San Diego State University, will discuss the capture of Dominic Ongwen, commander in the Lord’s Resistance Army, and its implications for the International Criminal Court and the politics of political violence and justice throughout Africa. The lecture will be held on Wednesday, February 11, 2015 at 2:00pm in 223 Moses Hall. This event is co-sponsored by the Center for African Studies and the CPD.
